Frequently Asked Questions

Why do you have the Hoes Down?
The Hoes Down is a celebration of the end of the harvest season. After the long summer, farmers need to kick off their boots, kick up their heels, dance, and have a grand time with their family. The Hoes Down is a fundraiser for over 30 local and regional community organizations- not one penny stays on Full Belly Farm. For a full list of benefiting organizations, click here.

What should I bring?
A water bottle, sun hat and sunscreen, bathing suit (for swimming in the creek), a flashlight if you plan to stay late and camping equipment.

What should I NOT bring?

Do I need a reservation for camping?
Camping is an essential part of the Hoes Down – many people say that it is their favorite part. Reservations are not necessary, but camping is only available on a first come, first serve basis.

Can I bring my dog?
Because of the resident farm animals, we ask that all dogs (except service dogs, of course) be left at home.

Can I volunteer?
Yes! Please click here for more information on volunteering.

Is food included in the cost of admission?
The food at the Hoes Down is out of this world! It is sourced from the most amazing sources – small, organic, family farms and ecologically and environmentally minded companies and is almost 100% organic. For menus, visit the Food page. Food is not included in the cost of admission, though admission does cover most other activities while at the festival, including the Children’s Area, Workshops, and Live Music!

Is there an ATM?
Yes! We have a solar-powered ATM on site.
